We want to welcome Dr. Mark Adickes, our newest teammate, into “our huddle” at the Athletic Room. Dr. Mark’s presence will offer more enhanced service, grow our knowledge, and provide expert guidance to staff and clients at the Athletic Room. Mark is a highly-respected Harvard trained physician serving in our greater Houston community. He is devoted to helping people realize their goals of reducing or ending pain and returning to a healthier all- around lifestyle that includes better range of movement and allows for greater quality of life.
Dr. Mark’s personalized approach reflects his genuine caring for his patients. He often tells his patients with the utmost sincerity, “I will treat your problem as if it were my own or that of a family member.” He is a physician that people trust, respect, and praise for his work and patient-oriented care. We are extremely excited about and honored that Dr. Mark Adickes has accepted the position as our Medical Director. He will be a valuable team member of The Athletic Room.
Dr. Mark is a global citizen whose enthusiasm for life is evident in his every pursuit. After living all over the World as a child his family settled in Killen, Texas where he fell in love with football. He earned a scholarship to Baylor University where he excelled and earned an All-American selection. After graduation, he played Professional Football for 9 years, winning a Super Bowl while with the Washington Redskins.
For most people that is already an impressive list of accomplishments but Mark was not even close to being done. After retiring from the NFL, he merged his understanding of movement, the body, and surgery to study Medicine at Harvard Medical School. We are fortunate to have Dr. Mark here in Houston where he currently serves as the Chief of Sports Medicine at Baylor College as well as an NFL injury analyst for TV.
